ABSTRACT<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n
\n

The objective of the study was to compare the occupational stress among male and female librarian of M.P.. For this purpose of the study, 100 librarians (Male= 50, Female=50) from\u00a0 \u00a0various colleges were selected.\u00a0 Occupational Stress Index (O.S.I) by Dr. A K Shrivastava & Dr. A P Singh was adopted in the study to measure the level of stress among the librarians. To\u00a0 compare the \u00a0occupational stress descriptive statistics mean, standard deviation and \u2018t\u2019 test were employed. Researcher concluded that\u00a0 the significant variations existed between the male and female librarians working in various colleges of Bhopal. Female librarian of Bhopal are facing higher occupational stress when compared to male librarians. It is the time to realise that working women significantly contributes towards economic and social development of the country. It was suggested that working women must be provided with peer support, favourable working environment, less working hours, proper supervision and training, assistance with child care and developing zero tolerance policies to reduce stress.<\/p>\n
